Who you are buying from
V'samachta Arba Minim is a trading name of Stam Mehudar Co., a Delaware corporation, of 123 Highgrove Crescent, Lakewood, NJ 08701, USA. Your order is a contract with that company, and that is the name that appears on your card statement.
Ordering
Orders are placed on this site for the Sukkos 5787 season and are shipped to the address on the order. You choose your sets and how many, and give a name, a phone number, an email address and a delivery address.
Every order is given a code. That code is how you look your order up and how you change it before the deadline.
Ordering closes at the season deadline. Prices are calculated on the server at the moment you order, never in your browser.
Payment
Sets are paid for in full at the time of ordering. There is nothing added on top: orders are collected in person, so no shipping is charged. The total is shown before you pay, and prices are calculated on the server, never in your browser.
Card processing is not live yet
Orders are recorded on the server, but no card is charged until the operator connects a payment account in their own name. Exact charge timing and refund handling will be stated here once that account is connected.
Changes and cancellation
You can change or cancel your order, free, at any time up to the deadline. Reply to your confirmation email or get in touch quoting your order number, and we will change the sets or refund you in full. Your confirmation also carries a link to the order itself, where you can see exactly what is on it.
After the deadline the shipment is packed against the final totals, so the site stops accepting changes. A cart that reached the payment step before the deadline may finish paying for up to 15 minutes afterwards; nothing new can be started.
Past the deadline, get in touch — the shipment is already packed against the totals, but a wrong delivery address can still be corrected until the box leaves.
Collection
There is no shipping this season. Every order is collected in person in Airmont, NY, and nothing is posted or couriered.
Every set is ready in time for Yom Tov. The whole season flies in together and lands after Yom Kippur; your order is set aside under your name and you get a notice the moment it is ready, carrying the collection address and the window. Those come from the pickup location rather than from this page, so go by the notice.
Bring your order number. It is what identifies the order, so anyone can collect on your behalf with it.
If you cannot make the window, get in touch before it passes rather than after. An order left uncollected is not refunded on that basis alone, but the season is short and we would rather sort it out with you than after Yom Tov.
The sets fly in from Eretz Yisrael sealed: esrog in its box, hadassim and aravos in a sealed bag, lulav sealed. You open them in your sukkah.
If something is not right
Every item is inspected and approved by Morei Hora'ah in Eretz Yisrael before the box is sealed, and reserve stock travels with the shipment. If something is not right with what arrives, tell us as soon as it does.
Arba Minim are perishable goods selected to order, so tell us quickly rather than after Yom Tov; there is very little anyone can do once the season has passed.
What we store about you
An order record holds only what is needed to fill and hand over that order:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the delivery address for the order
- what you ordered, the total, and how you chose to pay
- your order code and the time it was placed
Records are held in a private server-side store that only the program can read. Staff packing the season's shipment see the orders and their delivery addresses; that is how a set reaches the right door.
Your email address is used to send your order confirmation and the notice that your order is ready to collect. Both come from Shopify, which processes the order. Checkout also offers a box to hear from us when next season opens; that is the only thing we would ever email you beyond your own order, and nothing is sold or passed to anyone outside the program.
We also count visits to this site, so we know whether anybody is finding it. That measurement is anonymous — no cookie, no advertising identifier, nothing that says one visit is the same person as another. It records the page, the country, the kind of device, and the site or campaign a visit came from. There is no banner asking you to consent to it because there is nothing in it that points at you.
If you arrived from a campaign — a link in an email, or a printed flyer with a short code on it — that campaign name is kept in your own browser and added to your order, so we can tell which way of reaching people actually worked. A campaign name, not your name. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Records are kept for the season and the reconciliation that follows it. To have yours removed, get in touch.
